SÃO TOMÉ & PRÍNCIPE
Do I need any vaccines, travel insurance, or medical precautions before traveling to São Tomé and Príncipe?
Yes, we strongly recommend a pre-travel health consultation. A yellow fever vaccine may be required upon entry, especially if you’re arriving from a country where the disease is endemic. It’s also a good idea to bring a strong mosquito repellent (ideally with DEET), sunscreen, and a basic travel medical kit (including pain relievers, antihistamines, anti-diarrheals, etc.). Travel insurance with medical coverage is mandatory to join any ZugAdventures experience — your safety is our priority.
What kind of clothing and footwear should I pack?
São Tomé and Príncipe has a warm and humid tropical climate, so lightweight, breathable, quick-dry clothes are ideal. For hikes and nature walks, bring comfortable and grippy footwear. A light rain jacket can come in handy, especially during the rainy season. Don’t forget your swimsuit, microfiber towel, and a sun hat or cap. Travel light — but travel smart!
Is there anything else important I should bring?
In addition to the essentials, we recommend packing a headlamp (great for evening hikes or low-light areas), a reusable water bottle (we’ll help you refill it!), a power bank, and if you’re into photography, your camera — you’ll want to capture every moment! And of course, bring your spirit of adventure!
Should I choose 7, 12, or 15 days? What’s the difference between the packages?
Each option offers a different level of immersion:
The 7-day trip is ideal if you’re short on time but want a solid introduction to São Tomé.
The 12-day package dives deeper — with more time for cultural experiences, longer hikes, and visits to plantations and Rolas islet.
The 15-day journey is the most complete — including the island of Príncipe, a true gem for nature lovers and tranquility seekers.
Will there be time to rest, or is it all go-go-go?
Your well-being is our priority. That’s why we balance activities with plenty of time to relax. Our goal is to offer a rich experience without the rush — giving you space to soak it all in, swim, taste local flavors, and simply enjoy the natural beauty around you.
Are the trips private or group-based?
Our expeditions can be either private or in small groups — it all depends on what you’re looking for. Every journey is highly personalized and designed around your preferences, interests, and travel style. Whether you're traveling solo, as a couple, with friends or family, we craft experiences that feel uniquely yours.
What activities can I expect to experience during 15 days in São Tomé and Príncipe?
During a 15-day adventure, you'll have the opportunity to dive into the heart of this tropical paradise. You can explore vibrant underwater worlds through snorkeling, enjoy refreshing baths in stunning waterfalls, and observe sea turtles — one of our specialties. Discover the rich history of the islands with visits to cocoa and coffee plantations, museums, and fishing communities. Embark on scenic hikes through lush forests, savor unique culinary experiences, and immerse yourself in the local culture and customs. It's a one-of-a-kind journey, tailored to awaken all your senses.
CAPE VERDE
Can I customize my Cape Verde adventure with ZUGADVENTURES?
Yes! At ZUGADVENTURES, we offer tailor-made private expeditions that are designed to match your personal interests. Whether you'd like to spend your mornings diving and afternoons discovering local culture and traditions, or explore the islands over one or two weeks, our packages are incredibly versatile. We can also include activities like snorkeling and sea turtle watching, depending on the season of nesting and baby turtle releases.
Which islands in Cabo Verde do you explore with ZUGADVENTIURES?
We focus on immersive adventures in Sal, Boavista, São Vicente, and Santo Antão — each with its own unique charm. From desert landscapes and turtle nesting beaches to vibrant cultural cities and lush green valleys, we’ll guide you through Cabo Verde’s incredible diversity in a way that’s authentic and personal.
Can I explore other islands in Cape Verde beyond the ones you focus on?
Absolutely! While our main adventures are based in Sal, Boavista, São Vicente, and Santo Antão — islands we know intimately — we’re always open to exploring beyond. If you’re curious about other corners of the archipelago, let us know! We’re happy to co-create a custom journey that suits your interests, whether it’s discovering lesser-known islands or combining multiple destinations into one unforgettable trip.
What should I know before traveling to Cape Verde?
Before your adventure begins, make sure your passport is valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates. Most travelers need a visa, which can be easily obtained online before departure or on arrival (depending on your nationality) — we’re happy to guide you through this process.
There are no mandatory vaccines for entry, but it’s always wise to consult a travel medicine clinic. We recommend bringing mosquito repellent, any personal medications you might need, and a good travel insurance policy. Cabo Verde is generally safe and welcoming, but a little preparation goes a long way for a stress-free trip!
ZUGADVENTURES RECOMMENDS YOU PREPARE FOR EACH ACTIVITY AND GET READY TO EXPERIENCE EVERY ADVENTURE TO THE FULLEST!

Diving & Snorkeling
If you have your own diving or snorkeling equipment, bring it along for your trip – it’s always better to use what you're already familiar with.

Turtle Watching
For this activity, we need to blend in as much as possible with the environment. Turtles are sensitive to lights and bright colors. Bring dark clothing and a red headlamp (mandatory for this experience).

Trails & Hiking
For a hike, we recommend bringing comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, a waterproof jacket, some snacks, and plenty of water.

Bird Watching
For birdwatching, we recommend using a red light at night in the Azores to avoid disturbing wildlife. In São Tomé and Príncipe or Cape Verde, the activity takes place during the day, either through hikes in the forest or along coastal areas. Be sure to bring comfortable footwear, weather-appropriate clothing, binoculars for better sightings, and a good supply of water.

Photo & Video
For photography and videography enthusiasts, we recommend bringing a power bank, the necessary charging cables, extra batteries, and additional memory cards to ensure you capture every unforgettable moment without interruptions.

Banana's Trip
For the banana plantation visit, we recommend comfortable footwear suitable for walking on uneven terrain.
THE ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME IS OUT THERE… DON’T JUST DREAM IT, LIVE IT.
